Terms of Use
Last updated:
These Terms are the agreement between you and Migas no Mundo. By creating an account, you agree to them.
Read section 6 carefully — the one about meeting people and staying in their homes. It is the part that matters most to your safety.
1. What Migas no Mundo is
An app that connects women who travel, for friendship, hosting and going out together. We introduce people with things in common and give you the space to talk.
What we are not: a travel agency, a hosting operator, an insurance broker or anyone’s guarantor. We do not organise the trip, we do not inspect anyone’s home, and we are not a party to what you arrange with another member.
2. Who can use it
To have an account you must:
- Be a woman. The app is for women only. You declare this at sign-up, and identity verification checks the sex on your document.
- Be 18 or older. We check the date of birth you give us and, during identity verification, the age on your document. We refuse anyone younger.
- Pass screening. Every new account is reviewed by a person on our team before it is released. We may decline without that implying any accusation against you.
- Not have been banned before. Anyone who has been banned may not return with another account.
3. Your account
The information you provide must be true. A profile with a false name, someone else’s photo or an altered age is grounds for removal — and in an app where women stay in each other’s homes, it is a lie with real consequences.
Your account is yours and cannot be transferred. Keep your password safe, do not share access, and tell us if you suspect someone else has got in.
4. Identity verification
You can verify your identity with a document and a selfie. It raises other members’ confidence and is required in order to chat.
During verification, Didit also checks on your document that you are a woman and 18 or older. An account that does not pass this check is not approved. We keep only the result, never the document.
Verification confirms that the document is valid and that the person in the selfie is the person in the document, a woman aged 18 or older. That is all. It is not a background check, not a guarantee of character, and no substitute for your own judgement.
5. Rules of conduct
Inside Migas, you may not:
- Impersonate anyone or lie about who you are.
- Harass, threaten, humiliate or stalk anyone.
- Discriminate on grounds of race, colour, ethnicity, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or age.
- Send unsolicited sexual, violent or illegal content.
- Charge for hosting or tours, or use the app to sell anything.
- Use the app to recruit, groom, defraud or ask for money.
- Publish another member’s personal data outside the app.
- Copy, scrape or automate access to other members’ content.
- Try to circumvent verification, screening or a block.
Breaking any of these can lead to content removal, suspension or a ban — depending on severity, and without prior warning where someone is at risk.
6. Meeting and hosting: read this
Connections made here happen in the real world, between people who did not know each other. That carries a risk no app can remove.
We do not check the safety of any home, neighbourhood or outing. We do not visit anyone, we do not confirm addresses, and we do not guarantee that the person on the other side is who they say they are, even when verified.
The decision to meet someone, to enter someone’s home or to host someone is yours alone, and so is the risk. Before any meeting:
- Talk at length in the app before arranging anything.
- Tell someone you trust where you will be and with whom.
- Add an emergency contact and use the check-in when you arrive.
- Make the first meeting somewhere public.
- If something feels wrong, leave. You owe no one an explanation.
If something happens, use the report button. In immediate danger in Brazil, call 190. For violence against women, call 180. Elsewhere, call your local emergency number.
7. No money through the app
There are no payments between members inside Migas. Hosting and outings offered here are free — an exchange between travellers, not a service.
Charging or selling anything to another member is prohibited. If someone charges you or offers something for sale, report it under “Charging or selling”. Arranging payment outside the app is against these Terms, is at your own risk, and leaves us unable to help if it goes wrong.
8. What you post
The content you create — photos, bio, messages, reviews — remains yours.
You grant us only the permission needed to make the app work: to store that content, show it to the members it is meant for, and process it to suggest connections. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for what we must retain to investigate a report (see the Privacy Policy).
By posting, you confirm the content is yours and infringes no one’s rights.
9. Reviews
After a connection, you can review each other. A review is your opinion and must be honest and respectful.
We remove reviews containing insults, a third party’s personal data, a demonstrable lie, or blackmail (“review me well or I’ll review you badly”). We do not remove a negative review merely for being negative.
10. Invitations and the Invited migas badge
Every account has its own invitation link and code. When a friend signs up through them and completes her sign-up (questionnaire and photo), she counts towards your Invited migas badge.
- The badge is recognition only: it gives no money, discount, Miga+ or any other feature.
- Each person counts once. You may not invite yourself or use fake or duplicate accounts to raise the count.
- Suspicious sign-ups — for example, many from the same device or email in a short time — stay under review and only count after the team reviews them.
- Fake, duplicate or team-suspended accounts stop counting. If that takes your total below your current level, you go back to the previous level.
- If an invited friend deletes her account or leaves the app, she still counts.
- Who invited her is recorded on the invited account and cannot be changed later. The invited friend sees the first name of who invited her.
- The numbers for each level may change. Anyone who has already reached a level keeps it.
- Trying to game the count breaks the rules of conduct (section 5).
11. Reports, blocks and bans
You can block any member at any time, without giving a reason. Someone you block can no longer find you.
Every report is reviewed by a person. Depending on the case we may ask for clarification, remove content, suspend or ban. A ban is permanent.
If you are banned and believe it was a mistake, write to suporte@migasnomundo.com. We will review it.
12. Miga+
Migas is free to use. Miga+ is optional and raises limits and unlocks filters and features.
- The purchase happens through the App Store or Google Play, not through us. Billing takes place there.
- The subscription renews automatically until you cancel, and cancellation is done in the store, not here.
- Refunds follow the policy of the store where you bought. We have no access to your payment and cannot issue refunds.
- Cancelling does not delete your account: you return to the free plan at the end of the paid period.
13. Ads
The free plan shows ads. They never appear inside a conversation or on the safety, reporting or verification screens — places where an ad has no business being.
We do not hand your answers, your conversations or your location to advertisers. See the Privacy Policy.
14. What is ours
The Migas no Mundo name, the brand, the app, the website, the code and the design are ours. You may use the app; you may not copy it, resell it or build something derived from it.
15. Downtime and changes to the service
We work to keep the app running, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. There may be maintenance, faults or instability.
We may change, suspend or discontinue features. If we discontinue something significant, we give reasonable notice.
16. Limits of our liability
We are not responsible for:
- What another member does, inside or outside the app.
- What happens during a meeting, a stay or an outing.
- Harm, loss, theft or damage arising from a connection made here.
- False information another member has published.
This does not exclude responsibility for what we do: if the problem is ours — a service failure, a breach we caused, an incorrect charge — we are liable under Brazil’s Consumer Protection Code and the LGPD.
Nothing here limits any right Brazilian law grants you and does not allow to be waived.
17. Closing your account
You can delete your account at any time from the app, under Profile → Settings → Delete account. What happens to your data is set out in the Privacy Policy.
We may close your account if you break these Terms or if keeping it open would put other members at risk.
18. Changes to these Terms
When we change something material, we tell you in the app before it takes effect, and the date at the top of this page changes. Continuing to use the app after that means accepting the new version. If you disagree, you can close your account.
19. Governing version
These Terms are available in several languages. The Portuguese version prevails in case of any discrepancy between translations.
20. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by Brazilian law.
The courts of your place of residence have jurisdiction over any dispute — that is what Brazil’s Consumer Protection Code gives you, and we will not ask for anything different.
